AdviceClimbing up, the hike leads you through bright larch forests which were used as pastures in former times. The variety of blossoms on the rough grassland just above, is absolutely unique. The Almweg crosses the so-called “battle zone” with dwarf shrubs, sedges and isolated trees. Mankind has decisively shaped the landscape in alpine pastures. The descend will take you through some remains of a dense high-alpine pine forest.

Path descriptionThe route starts at the parish church in Rein (1,598 m) along trail nr. 10 to the Lobiser Schupfn (hay barns) at 1,959 m, continuing along Almweg nr. 1a to the Durra Alm alpine cabin. The descend will be on the Fuldaer track n.1.
